UN Invites Greek & Turkish Cypriot Leaders to Headquarters

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has invited the Turkish and Greek leaders of Cyprus to New York for talks.  The discussions regard negotiations of reunification of the divided Mediterranean island that have restarted, the UN said on Saturday.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on November 18th at UN headquarters in Manhattan.
The three-way meeting will seek to inject fresh momentum in the plodding negotiations that have produced limited progress after more than two years of talks aimed at reunifying the island.
Recent talks on reunification between the leader of the Greek half of the island, Dimitris Christofias, and his Turkish counterpart, Mehmet Ali Talat, began in September.
