With only a week to go until election day, former President Bill Clinton paid a visit to Chicago to help make sure the Illinois Senate seat up for grabs stays in Democrats’ hands.
During a rally at a hotel in downtown Chicago today, Clinton urged Democratic activists to get out the vote on Nov. 2nd. He says what Democrats wanted two years ago when they voted for Obama is at risk if Democrats don’t win this race.
Polls this week show that Republicans have a slight edge in the races for Illinois governor and the state’s Senate seat. Congressman Mark Kirk is leading Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias in the Senate race, and state Sen. Bill Brady holds a slim lead over Gov. Pat Quinn.
