Lisa Zane to Perform at Katerina’s

Actress/singer/poet Lisa Zane will perform on October 9 at Katerina’s in Chicago. The cozy club is best known to local Greeks as Chicago’s Elliniko Boîte, featuring Rembetika and other global entertainment.

Born Elizabeth Frances Zane, she is the daughter of Thalia and William George Zane, Sr., both former amateur actors, and the sister of actor Billy Zane, best known for his roles in films like “Titanic.” Though anglicized by her parents, the family name was originally Zanetakos. Lisa grew up in Chicago.

Lisa, 49, is a star of stage and screen. The actress has appeared in many films, including “Femme Fatale,” with Colin Firth and brother Billy. She made her theatrical debut at Chicago’s Goodman Theater in David Mamet’s “Cherry Orchard.” Additionally, she’s appeared on many television shows, including “LA Law,” “ER” and “Law and Order.”

The Greek-American chanteuse is also an accomplished songwriter and recording artist. In 2006, she was recognized by The Songwriters Hall of Fame as one of their new songwriters of the year. She’ll sing her own compositions and a few surprises in her appearance at Katerina’s.
