Prime Minister Papandreou will visit the USA from September eighteenth through twenty third. During scheduled meetings, Papandreou will meet with Greek American military officers and academics.
On September 21st, Papandreou will meet Vice President Joe Biden. He will speak at the Summit for the Developing Targets of the New Millennium. Additionally he will speak at the official opening of the 65th General Assembly of the United Nations.
On Sunday he is invited to lunch in Wall Street with the President of Wall Street and its most significant members. The PM will have the chance to present and explain the developing and investment program of the Greek government .In the afternoon he will direct the Socialistic International meeting.
On Wednesday apart from meetings with foreign leaders, he will speak to military officers and academics of the Greek American community during a reception at The General Consulate of Greece in New York. The same night Papandreou will be present at a reception hosted by former President Clinton during the annual meeting of his organization.
On Thursday Papandreou will attend the official opening of the 65th General Assembly, where President Obama will make a statement. This year the speaker on Greece will be Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas. Droutsas will speak on Tuesday September 28th. During his time in New York Droutsas will meet many of his colleagues and will accompany Papandreou during meetings with foreign leaders. He will represent Greece at the Escort for the Small Island Nations.
Additionally Droutsas will participate in the meetings of NATO and European Union with USA and Russia.
