According to a New York Times survey, 2 out of 3 New Yorkers oppose the construction of a Muslim center and a mosque on Ground Zero .They ask the mosque to be built in any other location.
Nine years after the terrorists attacks, many citizens in New York says they do not have good relations with Islam. 1 in 5 citizens said that they are hostile to Muslims and 33% said that the Muslims of America are more positive against the terrorists than other Americans.
The reactions for the construction of a mosque near the Ground Zero and the refusal for the reconstruction of the church of St. Nickolaos resulted to the mobilization of many bodies, associations and American politicians. They ask for the Greek Orthodox church to be reconstructed that was destroyed on 9- 11.
