An event for the Greek wines took place in the Embassy of Greece in Washington. The event was orientated by special guests such as sommeliers, journalists, importers and wine distributors for the wider area of the American capital. This event was conducted by the Embassy in cooperation with the specialized company GiraMondo Wine of the sommelier mr. Laurent Guinand with a view to showing the singularity and individuality of Greek wine varieties as well as the promotion of the modern and dynamic Greek winery.
In this event, mr. Guinand presented the development of the vineyards, the varieties and the winery in Greece during the last decades and he also underlined a recent oblation of the International Wine Review for the wines of Santorine.
In addition, 22 greek labels were presented by “Athenee Importers and Distributor” company, which is one of the biggest importing companies and distribution networks of greek products in the US.
