Concert With Melina Aslanidou: Discover the Best of What Greek Music Has to Offer

Discover the best of what Greek music has to offer! A one of a kind concert dedicated to the most popular and everlasting rembetika (Greek blues) and folk songs of all time of the Greek legendary late singers Grigoris Bithikotsis and Vicky Moscholiou. Presented by the non-profit cultural organization AKTINA Productions, Inc., this concert is part of the series GREEK MUSIC JOURNEY which was established in 1994 with a purpose to promote and preserve the most unique and representative aspects of Greek music.

Lovers of Greek music will enjoy a memorable musical performance featuring Greece’s popular singer Melina Aslanidou accompanied by the talented singer Vangelis Douvalis and her 8-member orchestra comprised by some of the finest musicians of Greece and led by the renowned bouzouki maestro/soloist Manolis Karantinis.

Join Melina Aslanidou on Friday, May 14th for an unforgettable evening filled with the most representative rembetika and folk songs of Greece. Highlighting the participation of Greece’s virtuoso bouzouki player/soloist Manolis Karantinis, the concert will reach an even greater level of importance. Karantinis is not only one of greatest bouzouki players but more importantly, during his long and impressive career, he has released several personal recordings and has had countless of collaborations with almost all Greek stars, including Bithikotsis and Moscholiou, both in live performances and in discography.

Presented at New York’s landmark theatre, The Town Hall located in the heart of Times Square, 123 West 43rd Street, between 6th and Avenues, the concert will start at 9pm sharp and will run for 2 hours and 15 minutes. Against a backdrop of exceptional videos of Bithikotsis and Moscholiou, Melina Aslanidou and her team of musicians will revive some of their greatest songs which comprise an integral part of Greece’s musical repertoire and which are popular to this day.
