Nassau Comptroller George Maragos May Challenge Schumer’s Senate Seat

George Maragos is considering to challenge Democrat Senator Charles Schumer

Nassau Comptroller George Maragos is looking into possible challenging the Senate Seat held by Charles Schumer. The Republican and wealthy businessman, who was elected Nassau Comptroller last November said that he will take “two weeks for the necessary assessment and decision.” He has met with political leaders across the state to test the waters, and he will be doing this all this “decision”period.

State Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long confirmed Maragos has expressed interest in challenging Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer this fall.

Before he entered politics, Maragos was a successful businessman. He is the Founder of SDS Financial Technologies, a growing organization providing financial information and online trading services to the financial industry in New York for over 20 years.
