Dimitrios and Maria Damalas (foto), the national ballroom dance champions of Greece, and Greece’s representatives in Latin dancing to the World Championships taking place in London, will bring their show to the monthly ballroom dance/show event at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Bridgeport.
“We’re extremely happy to get involved with a function in a Greek community,” said Dimitrios, who was born in Athens and who recently opened a dance studio in New York City. “I began dancing in Athens at an early age and met Maria when we competed against each other in Europe. She was from Finland, but when we married we made an easy decision to dance for Greece.”
Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is at 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Saturday. General ballroom dancing from 7 p.m. to midnight with a dance lesson taught at 8 by Sue Woods of Branford’s Let’s Dance in Rhythm. Showtime is 9:30. Admission is $17.
