18th Anniversary Hellenic Times Gala Honoring George Behrakis & Iron Chef Cat Cora

The Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund will honor Business leader George Behrakis and The Food Network’s Iron Chef Star Cat Cora at its 18th Anniversary Gala at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel on Saturday, May 16, 2009 The HTSF is also pleased to welcome singing sensation Kalomoira (Who was a winner of Fame Story, a finalist at Eurovision last year with her hit “Secret Combination” and current star of “Big In Japan”) to perform all her hits at the Gala. Also performing will be the legendary group The Trammps best known for their hit “Disco Inferno.”

Scholarship presenters will include Fox News anchor Ernie Anastos, CBS News anchor Alexis Christoforous, Guiding Light star Frank Dicopoulos Fox-5 meteorologist Nick Gregory, CSI:NY star Melina Kanakaredes and Judge Nicholas Tsoucalas, and others. American Idol and current Broadway star for Rock of Ages, Constantine Maroulis will also be on hand following his Broadway performance. Over 1200 people are expected to attend as the HTSF awards scholarships to Greek-American students from across the country. To date, the HTSF has awarded over $1.5 Million Dollars to over 600 students.

Dinner Chairman is New York Attorney Nick Katsoris, General Counsel of the Red Apple Group. Katsoris is also author of the Loukoumi children’s book series. General Chairs are humanitarians and business leaders Margo & John Catsimatidis. John is Chairman if the Red Apple Group and Publisher of the Hellenic Times with his wife Margo, who co-Publisher of the Hellenic Times and an advertising executive in New York City and they are intricately involved in numerous charities including the Police Athletic League, The National Alzheimer’s Committee, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and others.

Ticket prices are as follows: General admission tickets are from $200 per person; Youth tickets are $160 (35 and under if purchased by April 30th; $185 thereafter). A Special Concert Ticket only will also be available at $75 to the first 100 purchasers that are interested. Tables (including sponsorships of scholarships) may also be purchased as follows: Humanitarian Table ($50,000), Corporate Chair Table ($25,000), Chairman Table ($20,000); Vice-Chairman Table ($15,000); Tribute Table ($10,000); Benefactor Table ($6,500); Patron Table ($3,500).
